I’m a Professor in the History Department at Fordham University in New York City where I teach and write on the history of science and technology.

I received my Ph.D. in History from Carnegie Mellon University in 2004, and after a year as a postdoc at Harvard University, I joined Fordham’s History Department. Since then, I’ve taken up visiting positions at MIT (2008-09), the Smithsonian’s National Air & Space Museum (2013-14), Caltech (2015-16), and Princeton University (2021-22).

I was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2016.

I am also series co-editor of the “Studies in the History of Science and Technology” monograph series at the Johns Hopkins University Press.
